Street Style at Australian Fashion Week 2018

Once again, it’s that time of year for Australian and Asia Pacific designers to showcase their brightest collections for Resort 2019.

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week has come to Australia, as always to Carriageworks in Sydney. From the 13th to the 18th of May, the arts centre will be buzzing with Australian fashion elites and major retail buyers, all on the hunt for up-and-coming designers and a glimpse of the new trends to be set by established couturiers for the next spring/summer season.

Australian Fashion Week, as opposed to Melbourne Fashion Week, is an industry event held primarily for retail buyers to buy new spring/summer collections from designers. Australian designers such as We Are Kindred, Alice McCall and Camilla have all made an appearance at this year’s fashion week and we’ve loved every single piece.

Street style has been overwhelmingly dominated by layering, as well as an abundance of blazers, suits, trench coats and dad sneakers that can all be called the definitive trends of the winter season.

Take a look for yourself at the prominent trends and silhouettes gracing the Sydney streets at this year’s fashion week!
