Trending Beauty Looks at the Cannes Film Festival 2018

From the Met Gala, straight to the Cannes Film Festival, celebrities are non-stop serving class and incredible style inspiration.

The annual Cannes Film Festival is located in the coastal city of Cannes, obviously, where celebrities and famed directors assemble to celebrate forthcoming films and compete for the Palme d’Dor (the Golden Palm), the most prestigious award presented at the festival, all the while enjoying the sunny coast of the French Riviera. The resort town is also home to an Allée des Étoiles, a beautiful Cannes walk of fame for the winners of the festival.

Our very own Cate Blanchett has been named as the President of the Jury in the 71st year of the film festival, and she is no doubt a stand out with her unbelievable acting talent, and of course her ever-elegant style.

As always, celebrities put forward their classiest looks when it gets to the Cannes festival. This year, celebrity makeup has evidenced a clear trend. Kristen Stewart, Lupita Nyong’o and co. are serving gorgeous looks with blue and cool eye shadows. And we are so here for it.

Take a look for yourself and see which look is your favourite!

Lupita Nyong’o effortlessly pulling off a bold, teal eye colour which contrasts beautifully with her pink dress.

Kristen Stewart is a favourite at Cannes for her amazing ensembles and edgy makeup. Her dark blue eyeshadow defines her eyes and creates a stunning focal point in her outfit.

Joan Smalls looks striking with electric blue eyeliner, a hint of colour against her white dress and jewellery.

Model Petra Němcová has a subtle hint of blue, bordering on emerald liner under her eyes that complements her stunning jewellery.

Leomie Anderson modelled a winged, dark blue eyeshadow look, and it looks gorgeous paired with her sunshine yellow dress.

Director Ava DuVernay looks stunning in a blue turtleneck dress, and paired with dramatic blue shadow, it’s a completed look.

Stella Maxwell has a very subtle hint of coolness in her shadow. Her lids are coloured mostly in a light, peach colour, but closer to her lash line is a subtle swipe of silvery blue which adds that bit of depth to her makeup.
