3 Natural Beauty Hacks

In a world full of over-priced beauty products sometimes the best way to take care of your skin is the natural way.

Only use beauty products with organic ingredients in your skincare ritual. This way you can avoid harmful products filled with preservatives, parabens and sulfates, which can cause symptoms of irritation and premature ageing. For inspiration, take a peek at our very own top 3 beauty hacks for naturally glowing skin!

  1. Use tea tree oil to combat blemishes

Tea tree oil acts as a miracle for blemish-prone skin types. It is an essential oil that holds antibacterial properties to tackle the bacteria that irritates the skin and causes blemishes. We recommend adding tea tree oil to your skincare ritual as a night-time spot treatment to use on blemishes and acne.

Remember, tea tree oil is a strong ingredient so only apply a couple of drops of oil to a cotton ball and dab gently onto blemishes. Use after cleansing, toning and moisturising to ensure the oil doesn’t spread all over your face. It is a product to be applied sparingly. Use organic tea tree oil for best results!

  1. DIY body scrub

Why waste your hard-earned dollars on a scrub that could have harsh chemicals or preservatives inside, when you could design your very own organic and delightfully low-cost body scrub. To make your own scrub is a very simple process and will require just a few essential ingredients.

The first thing you need is a base exfoliant. We recommend giving sugar a go! Sugar granules are round, making them softer to use on sensitive skin types. Next, add a carrier oil or in other words, a base oil. Great options include coconut oil, olive oil or almond oil. To complete your scrub you will need an essential oil. Peppermint, lavender and chamomile are our favourites.

To protect your skin from drying out in the winter months ahead, try a simple but luxurious coconut and sugar body scrub.

½ cup of coconut oil

¼ cup of granulated sugar

½ teaspoon of an essential oil

Just mix the ingredients together and then blend until it becomes a creamy paste. Pour the contents into a glass container and use a secure lid. And there you have it, a cheap and natural scrub to exfoliate your skin, made in mere minutes!

  1. You are what you eat

The final and most important natural beauty hack. Vegetables and fruits have powerful nutrients and antioxidants inside that will do wonders as an anti-ageing product for your skin.

Also, try to reduce your coffee intake. Drinking cups of coffee all day can dehydrate your skin.

Water is the best way to hydrate and reduce toxins in your body. So make sure you are getting 2 litres of H2O daily.
